Community Alert - Sneak-In Burglary Warning

Police are reminding residents to remain vigilant following a recent suspected sneak-in burglary in the area.

Unfortunately the victim is unable to give times between the incident happening as they can't remember when they last saw the purse. The incident was reported on the Thursday 24th September however. 

The victim reported that their purse had gone missing and believes that an unknown person may have entered the property without permission in order to steal it. It was also discovered that the side gate to the property had been damaged, suggesting that access may have been gained via the rear of the premises.

Sneak-in burglaries often occur when offenders take advantage of insecure doors, windows, gates, or unattended properties. These offences can happen during the day or overnight and are often committed quickly without attracting attention.

Crime Prevention Advice:

✅ Always lock doors and windows, even when at home.
✅ Ensure side gates and rear access points are secure and in good repair.
✅ Remove valuables such as handbags, purses, wallets and car keys from view.
✅ Consider fitting security lighting or CCTV where appropriate.
✅ Be aware of any unfamiliar persons acting suspiciously in your neighbourhood.
✅ Report any suspicious activity immediately.
